First 1,000/5,000 Mile Checkup

Replace oil filter.
Inspect air cleaner and service as required.
Inspect brake pad linings and discs for wear.
Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks.
Lubricate the front brake hand lever, the throttle control cables & the clutch control cable.
Check battery electrolyte level & clean connections (on FLT only).
Check operation of electrical equipment & switches.
Check tightness of all fasteners, except engine head bolts.
Check tire pressure & inspect tread.
Check rear drive belt.
Change transmission lubricant & clean magnetic drain plug.
Inspect fuel valve lines & fitting for leaks.
Check rear shock absorbers.
Check brake fluid reservoir levels & condition.
Check stabilizer links & engine mounts.
Check primary chaincase, lubricate & clean magnetic drain plug.
Check wheel spoke tightness.
Check cruise control/disengage switch.
Check air suspension for correct operation & leakage.
Lubricate jiffy stand.
Road test.
Every 5,000 Miles

Change primary chaincase lubricant & clean magnetic drain plug.
Check/adjust primary chain.
Check clutch adjustment.
Change transmission lubricant & clean the magnetic drain plug.
Check & adjust belt.
Check rear brake pedal adjustment.
Inspect brake pads & discs for wear.
Check brake fluid reservoir levels & condition.
Inspect oil lines & brake system for leaks.
Lubricate the front brake hand lever, throttle control cables, throttle, clutch control cable & hand lever and jiffy stand.
Inspect fuel valve, lines & fittings for leaks.
